The car was purchased back in 1999. I traded in my 1989 Chevrolet Camero since I new my children were on the way and I needed a car with four doors and more room. As my father and I are gazing around the car lot, I see a Volkswagen with a VR6 2.8 badge on the side of the fender. My car knowledge tells me it's a 6 cylinder,2.8 litre engine. Well I said to myself, "volkswagen doesn't make a 6 cylinder car, their all 4-cylinders. Soon enough, I eventually purchased the car and drove it home. I immediately begin doing my homework on this vehicle. Come to find out, 1993 was the first year VAG(Volkswagen Auto Group) designed their first 6 cylinder engine for volkswagen cars. A normal 6 cylinder engine wouldn't fit on a VW, so the engine cylinders are are designed at a 15 degree angles. Advantage - A mid-sized semi-powerful engine can fit in a VW, Disadvantage -The car runs very hot in hot weather since 15 degrees doesn't allow much airflow inside the engine banks. Either way, I was hooked!!! The possibilities with this car, any car, is endless. It soley relys on how deep your pockets are...!
